Chaska Police Offer Reward for Attempted Robbery Suspect 05 Aug 11

Chaska police are offering a $500 reward for information about an attempted armed robbery that prompted a manhunt yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m. at the Peterson Car Wash. A woman had just finished washing her car when she was allegedly confronted by a man with a handgun. He demanded that she give him her purse but the woman fled on foot instead, and the suspect allegedly ran off in the opposite direction. He remains at large.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s or early 30s. He is approximately 5’11 with a medium-to-heavy build. At the time of the incident, he is believed to have been wearing a black hat, a shirt with red, white, gray and black horizontal stripes and plaid shorts. He was also reported to be carrying a black handgun.
