City-County Agreement Sets Stage for Jordan Library 16 Aug 11

The town of Nerstrand is searching for a new mayor after Joel Hochschild resigned earlier this month amid questions about the process with which he approved the purchase of street repairs and a new fire truck, totaling more than $40,000.

Former mayor Tom Voge offered to take over for the remaining duration of Hochschild’s term, but was all but rejected during a city council meeting last week. In the end, council members asked Voge to put in writing his reasons for wanting to be mayor.

Voge’s wife Betty is a former council person who also resigned from the council after the purchases were made, stating she asked questions the council didn’t like.
