A 19-year-old man from Savage is accused of stabbing his brother in the back during an Aug. 14 domestic dispute.
Brent Jacob-Lewis Dahlman has been charged in Scott County District Court with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon after he allegedly stabbed his older brother with a steak knife.
In a statement to police, Dahlman said his brother attacked him after Dahlman admitted hitting a woman his brother brought home. He admitted stabbing his brother but said he did it in self defense.
An intake nurse at HCMC in Minneapolis said the brother’s injuries were not life-threatening.
If convicted, Dahlman could face up to seven years in prison. In March, Dahlman pleaded guilty to felony third-degree arson in an unrelated case.
