In a game that could have gotten away from the Jordan football team early after giving up two touchdowns in the first four minutes of the game they battled the #1AA Waterville-Elysian-Morristown and kept them out of the end zone until there were :28 left in the half. The Buccanears would win the game 39-0, but Jordan head coach Craig Albers was proud of the fight that the Hubmen put forth on both offense and defense in their season opener.
Coach Albers was willing to open up the full playbook as evidenced by the first play of the game when Jordan tried a halfback pass that was intercepted and brought back to the Jordan 10 yard line that set up WEM first score of the game. The next score for WEM was set up a 4-yard punt from Kurt Schansberg that caught more of his heel than it did his foot. One play and 37-yards later WEM Brady Ayers was in the end zone with his second touchdown of the game. Then the Jordan defense would stand tall forcing a punt and a turnover on downs in WEM next two possessions of the first half. The Bucs would get one more touchdown after getting started at the Jordan 44 yard line, but eat up over six minutes of the clock to get into the end zone on a 4th-and-goal from the Jordan 5 yard line on a pass from Tate Harmon to Brady Ayers to make the score 20-0 at the half.
To start the second half Jordan would once again go to the bag of tricks with an onside kick that was missed by John Heigel and went out of bounds and gave WEM the ball at their own 41 yard line. The Bucs would score on their first two drives of the second half thanks to a 40-yard TD run from Tate Harmon and a 6-yard TD run from Brady Ayers (his 4th TD of the game) to make the score 33-0. The final score of the game would come thanks to a fumble when Jordan quarterback Nate Beckman was hit by Nicholas Kaplan and then scooped up by Willie Olson 20-yards for the score to make the final 39-0. Jordan would threaten late in the game getting a 1st-and-goal from the WEM 4 yard line, but on fourth down Nate Beckman was intercepted in the end zone to end the game.
