A 30-year-old Mankato man is facing felony charges after he allegedly left the scene of a crash Friday on Highway 169 in Mankato.
A state trooper was called to the scene, just north of the Highway 14 intersection, at about 7 p.m. A driver there said he was traveling with his two children when he was hit by somebody entering Highway 169 from the Highway 14 ramp.
According to the trooper, the trunk of the man’s car was smashed and came close to pushing in the back seat, where a 4-year-old girl had been sitting.
A car with a damaged front end was found later near downtown Mankato and its driver identified as John Robert Wolf with the car. Wolf admitted being in a crash with his own child in the car, and a preliminary breath test revealed he had a blood-alcohol concentration of .14. The legal limit for driving in Minnesota is .08
Wolf faces two felony charges of criminal vehicular operation. He was still in jail as of yesterday afternoon.
