Le Sueur nurse admits stealing painkillers from patients 08 Sep 11

A nurse from Le Sueur is accused of repeatedly stealing powerful pain medication from patients and has admitted to investigators that she only stole from patients who she felt were not in too much pain.

Bobbi Leigh Beck, a registered nurse at Hennepin County Medical Center, was caught three times on surveillance video in late July stealing oxycodone from patients.

The 27-year-old told investigators she was stealing the drug to help her deal with pain following foot surgery, and that she committed no more than 10 thefts of the drug.

Beck, who has been a licensed nurse in Minnesota since January 2006, was charged by summons pending her first court appearance.
