The chairman of the Carver County Republican Party has resigned from his post and is accused of sexually touching a 16-year-old female.

Thirty-six-year-old Paul Scott Zunker, of Waconia, faces two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a person under 16.

Zunker is accused of sexually touching the alleged female victim on several occasions between August 15, 2010 and August 15, 2011.

Zunker was officially charged on September 9 and is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
