A senior a Prior Lake-Savage High School is a semifinalist in the 57th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
Samuel Prohaska of Prior Lake is among 16,000 semifinalists in the running for approximately 8,300 National Merit Scholarships, worth more than $34 million.
To become a finalist, Prohaska must submit a detailed scholarship application, prove an outstanding academic record, be endorsed by his high school principal and earn an SAT score that confirms his performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Last year, Maxwell Nagarajan, another Prior Lake-Savage student, received a National Merit University of Minnesota Scholarship.
