Driver in Le Center crash had BAC four times legal limit 27 Sep 11

A 35-year-old Bird Island woman was arrested for drunken driving earlier this month when officers found her in her vehicle in a ditch near Le Center.

On Sept. 5 at approximately 4:20 p.m., a Le Sueur County sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to State Highway 13 south of County Road 2 for a vehicle in the ditch. Upon arrival the deputy said he observed a vehicle in the east ditch of Highway 13, and a female driver was inside the vehicle.

While speaking with the driver, the deputy detected a strong odor of alcohol. The driver denied she had been drinking, but the deputy determined the woman was too intoxicated to perform field sobriety tests and administered a preliminary breath test which showed a reading of .310. The legal limit for driving in Minnesota is .08.

Bryn Katrina Montello of Bird Island was transported to the Le Sueur county Jail charged with second degree driving while impaired and driving after revocation. She was furloughed to the Wayside Treatment Center and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 11.
