The city of Shakopee has been designated a Heart Safe Community by Allina Hospitals and Clinics, recognizing the community’s efforts to have residents ready to respond when someone suffers sudden cardiac arrest.

Through the program, a partnership of local entities have trained more than 1,000 people in free CPR classes and placed 26 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) throughout the community for first responders.
