The City of Prior Lake’s maintenance superintendent and his wife were badly injured in a motorcycle crash late last month outside Bay City, Wisconsin.

36-year-old Joe Wiita was driving the motorcycle when it hit the edge of the road and he lost control, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department. Joe and his 34-year-old wife Carrie were thrown from the bike. The New Prague couple was taken by ambulance to the Red Wing airport and then airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Joe Wiita was reported in fair condition in the hospital’s trauma unit late last week. No information was available on his wife’s condition.
