A former Prior Lake postal carrier was sentenced in U.S. District Court Friday to 90 days of home confinement and was placed on three years of probation for stealing cash and gifts from mail she delivered.

Michelle Bressette, 44, of Jordan, was indicted on March 15 and pleaded guilty on May 25.

In her plea agreement, Bressette admitted that from December 2009 through October 2010, while employed by the Prior Lake post office, she embezzled letters and mail. She also admitted stealing and removing cash and gift cards from some letters, cards and other mail.
