At around 10:00 a.m., 61-year-old James Flynn was headed southbound on Highway 13 when he ran a red light and collided with a Freightliner semi headed east on Yankee Doodle Road.

The semi driver suffered no apparent injury. Flynn was listed in critical condition at Regions Hospital.

Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts
