A Belle Plaine Police Officer suffered minor injuries last week when he crashed into a vehicle stopped on Highway 169.
Around 11 p.m. Saturday, Officer Ryan Konken struck a vehicle stopped in the left-hand lane of southbound Highway 169. Authorities say the vehicle had no taillights or brake lights lighted.
Konken swerved to his right and sideswiped the car, occupied by a 50-year-old Mankato woman and two passengers. Belle Plaine Police Chief Tom Stolee said the squad car sustained the most damage.
Stolee said Konken was driving within the speed limit and did nothing wrong in the incident. The state patrol is investigating the crash.
