Online dating leads to rape charge in Shakopee 10 Oct 11

An 18-year-old Chaska woman has accused a 37-year-old man of raping her on their second date at his home in Shakopee.

Anthony Scully was recently charged in Scott County District Court with third- and fourth-degree felony criminal sexual conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, the woman met Scully on an online dating website called Skout. The two went out for the first time on August 7. The following day, the woman said they met again and she went with Scully to his home so he could pick up a few things.

While at the man’s mobile home, the woman said Scully assaulted and raped her. Later that night, she went to the hospital for a sexual assault exam and notified police of the incident.

Scully is scheduled to make his first appearance in Scott County District Court on October 24.
