A Chanhassen man has been found guilty of kidnapping and domestic assault charges and faces a potential prison sentence.
Loren Veltkamp was found guilty in Carver County court on Tuesday for charges stemming from a July 2010 incident.
According to the criminal complaint, Veltkamp hogtied a woman living at his residence, drove her to an unknown location approximately 11 miles away from their residence, and threw her out of the vehicle.
The woman, described as Veltkamp’s “on-again/off-again girlfriend” also claimed he had assaulted her earlier on the day of the incident. Veltkamp admitted to the allegations.
The kidnapping charge carries a presumptive prison sentence of between 41 months and 57 months in prison. Sentencing has been scheduled for December 16.
