Minnesota Vikings: Friday Player Watch 21 Oct 11

C John Sullivan (concussion) still hasn’t been cleared to practice. If he can’t do anything Friday, there’s a good chance Joe Berger would start against the Packers. Berger has 20 career starts, including 14 at center in Miami last year.

CB Antoine Winfield (neck) practiced on a limited basis for the second consecutive day. The team is being extra cautious because it’s a neck strain. Winfield has missed the past two games, but the fact he’s practicing again is encouraging, especially since the Vikings will be playing the Packers and their multiple receiver sets.

SS Jamarca Sanford (concussion) hasn’t been cleared. If he can’t play, Tyrell Johnson will get his first start since last Dec. 5 against Buffalo.

WR Percy Harvin (ribs) also appears ready to play after participating in practice on a limited basis Thursday. The Vikings will need all the talented skill players they can muster to have a chance of keeping pace with the Packers’ scoring.

RT Phil Loadholt (knee) appears to have turned a corner after participating in practice on a limited basis on Thursday. Loadholt is an inconsistent player, but the Vikings need him in the game against Packers OLB Clay Matthews.
