It’ll still feel like road construction season this weekend in Burnsville.
A nearly 3-mile stretch of Interstate 35W will shut down at 10 p.m. Friday and remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday as part of the expansion of the metro area’s automated carpool lane network. All northbound lanes will be closed from where I-35 splits into I-35W and I-35E, up to Highway 13.
Detours will be posted directing motorists to use northbound Hwy. 77 (Cedar Avenue) to the east.
Construction also continues on Highway 169 in Jordan. The right shoulder is closed in both directions, and there is work in the median in Sand Creek Township. The Highway 13/101 intersection in Savage is also still under long-term construction.
