Eden Prairie schools to hire former Shakopee leader 24 Oct 11

Former Shakopee Superintendent Jon McBroom is temporarily coming out of retirement to lead another school district.

On Tuesday, the Eden Prairie School Board is expected to approve McBroom as interim superintendent to replace embattled leader Melissa Krull, who left last month, nine months before her contract was up.

If approved, McBroom will lead the 9,700-student district until a permanent leader starts next July 1.

McBroom led Shakopee schools for 11 years and previously was a schools chief in Mora and Rush City, Minn.
