Woman faces felony charges for stabbing boyfriend in neck 26 Oct 11

A 43-year-old woman is facing four felony charges in Rice County after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the neck.

Kimberly Rae Berry was charged Monday with first degree attempted murder and three assault charges. The Faribault Daily News reports Berry is from Texas but has been living in Faribault since September.

According to the criminal complaint, police were dispatched to the Signature Bar and Grill just before 10 p.m. Saturday on a report of a stabbing. The bartender told police Berry had been at the bar, left for 20 minutes, and then returned with a bleeding leg. Berry was transported to District One Hospital in Faribault and treated for a stab wound.

When officers went to Berry’s apartment, they found her boyfriend in serious conditions with knife wounds to his neck. He was brought to District One Hospital in Faribault and was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital where he was treated and has since been released.

Berry is being held in the Rice County Jail pending $250,000 bail with conditions.
