Reward offered for information about hit-and-run 08 Nov 11

A southern Minnesota family is offering a $3,000 reward for information about a near-fatal hit-and-run near Gaylord two weeks ago.

John Byro, a Marine veteran from Madelia, remains in critical condition at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis following an Oct. 27 crash that left him with broken bones and a brain injury.

Dave Byro told the Star Tribune his 29-year-old brother had the right of way on Highway 19 when he collided with another vehicle and was left lying in the road. Another motorist stopped to help after finding Byro around 10 p.m.

Byro’s friends have offered a $3,000 reward for information leading to the identification and possible prosecution of the hit-and-run driver.

According to the State Patrol, the vehicle may have been a light-colored passenger vehicle or SUV that will have damage to the rear.
