A masked man demanded money from tellers at U.S. Bank in Prior Lake last week, marking the third area bank robbery in two weeks and the second in Prior Lake.
Shortly after noon on Saturday, Nov. 5, a man entered the U.S. bank branch at Franklin Trail and Highway 13. The man was wearing a mask and was speaking on a cell phone when he demanded cash, although police say he didn’t display a weapon or threaten that he had one. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money and left in vehicle that witnesses described as possibly gray in color.
Authorities also say the man sounded as though he was suffering from a head cold.
A masked man also robbed Prior Lake State Bank on Oct. 22, and the same man is believed to have robbed the downtown Shakopee Paragon Bank on Nov. 1. At this time, there does not appear to be a connection between Saturday’s robbery and the previous two.
