Wild 5, Ducks 3 05 Dec 11

Nick Johnson scored the game-winner and Matt Cullen recorded three assists as the Minnesota Wild battled back for a 5-3 victory over the host Anaheim Ducks on Sunday.

Cal Clutterbuck and Casey Wellman each collected a goal and an assist and Dany Heatley tallied for the Wild, who have won four straight.

The Ducks fell to 0-1-1 under new coach Bruce Boudreau.

Minnesota scored the game-winner in controversial fashion, when Clutterbuck slammed a pass from the right side into the slot. The puck glanced off Johnson’s skate as he was being shoved toward the crease and made it pastJonas Hiller with 5:31 left.

Johnson’s fourth tally was held up on video review.

The Ducks knotted it at 3-3 at the 10:45 mark of the third when Cam Fowler sent a shot into the slot from the left point. The puck deflected off the skate of Minnesota defenseman Marco Scandella and past Josh Harding.

The Wild had fought back from a 2-0 deficit to take the lead, cutting it to 2-1 when Heatley unleashed a slap shot from above the right point during a 5-on-3 power play with four seconds left in the first period.

Minnesota took the lead with a quick flurry early the second. Wellman scored from the doorstep off a nice feed from Cullen at the 4:45 mark, and Pierre-Marc Bouchard backhanded a shot past Hiller on the glove side 32 seconds later.
