I-35 crash kills one, critically injures two 13 Dec 11

One person is dead and two others critically injured after a collision on Interstate 35 near Elko yesterday afternoon.

The 43-year-old woman who died has not yet been identified.

According to the State Patrol, the woman was southbound on I-35 with a juvenile passenger when another driver merged in front of her around 2 p.m. The woman went onto the shoulder, overcorrected on a wet roadway and went through the median.

The woman’s vehicle was broadsided by a northbound vehicle and she died at the scene. The 13-year-old passenger was airlifted in critical condition to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

The driver of the other vehicle, 32-year-old Sara White of New Market, was in critical condition at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
