City of Faribault splits from school community education 14 Dec 11

The Faribault City Council last night axed a long-standing agreement with the Faribault School District for communication education programming.

The 13-year-old agreement, set to expire June 30, pays the city $161,000 for administrative and staffing support, but councilors expressed concern that the agreement was too antiquated for the economic environment and the demands on city staff were too great.

Councilors stressed that the city needed to protect its staff, but said they were willing to help transfer responsibility in a positive way.
