A 21-year-old man accused of assaulting a Mankato woman last year is now facing additional charges for allegedly faking an email threat from his victim.
Quyumba Wilson, of Minneapolis, was sentenced in March for stalking the woman and used what he described as a threatening email from her as reason for a lighter sentence. Investigators are now saying Wilson sent the email to himself through a service in the former Soviet Union.
Wilson had been ordered to stay away from the woman after he was charged with threatening and assaulting her in June 2010, when they were both students at Minnesota State University. He pleaded guilty to a domestic assault charge in August as a result of that incident.
Wilson is facing four new felony counts of stalking and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 12.
