A Northfield High School senior was charged last week with two counts of criminal sexual conduct for allegedly forcing himself onto a girl in his car.

August Robert Jasnoch, 18, is charged in Rice County District Court with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony, and fifth-degree non-consensual sexual conduct, a gross misdemeanor.

A criminal complaint filed Friday in Rice County District Court says Jasnoch contacted the girl on Wednesday night to help him shop at Target. When they left to drive to another store, Jasnoch drove to a secluded area and tried several times to kiss the girl and get her to touch him. At one point he climbed on top of her and pinned her to the seat, but she refused his advances.

If convicted of the felony charge, Jasnoch faces up to 10 years in prison. He has no criminal record, and his next court appearance is Jan. 18.
