Scott County sets zero increase for sheriff’s salary 27 Dec 11

Scott County is getting the “ok” from Sheriff Kevin Studnicka to keep his salary steady for 2012, despite a lawsuit earlier this year over the same move for the 2011 budget.

Staff recommended the 0.0 percent increase to the county board last Tuesday, citing “the ongoing economic crisis being faced in 2012,” according to agenda materials for the meeting.

In February, Studnicka sued to get a raise to almost $118,000. He told commissioners last week he’s willing to go with a zero increase this year, but did say he would like a study made for 2013 on where he stands.
