Fund set up for Minn. man who tried to stop driver 10 Jan 12

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) – A fund has been set up for an Army veteran injured when West St. Paul police say he tried to stop a drunken friend from driving.

Police say 24-year-old Kyle Kissinger of St. Paul suffered severe brain trauma when he was dragged nearly two blocks last Friday.

Kissinger remained in serious condition Monday at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

A fund to help defray expenses has been set up in Kissinger’s name at Anchor Bank in St. Paul. Donations may be made by calling the bank at 651-457-1111.

The driver was arrested at his home. He was released from the Dakota County Jail on Sunday after posting $75,000 bail. No charges have been filed.

The case remains under investigation.
