Creeksbend tournament raises money for injured hockey player 12 Jan 12

Lingering snow and the fact that it’s January couldn’t keep more than 100 golfers from hitting the links in New Prague yesterday to raise money for injured high school hockey player Jack Jablonski.

On Sunday, staff at TwinCitiesGolf.com paired up with Creeksbend Golf Course in New Prague and began planning the fundraiser. By Monday afternoon, the event was sold out. Creeksbend General Manager Bryan Connelly tells KCHK the community response was amazing, despite the short notice.

And although playing conditions weren’t ideal, most golfers laughed about putting through snow and using a hammer to drive tees into the frozen ground.

Half of the proceeds from the tournament and all of the money raised in the silent auction will go to Jablonski’s fund.
