Drug abuse treatment facility to open in Chaska 24 Jan 12

Young substance abusers will be the focus of a new addiction treatment facility in Chaska opening this spring.

Minnesota-based Hazelden will open an outpatient clinic that will service adults beginning March 1 and expand its services to adolescents beginning April 1. Hazelden officials say although adolescent drug use is on the decline, prescription drug use is rising, and such drugs can become addictive quickly, accelerating the need for treatment.

Executive Director Terri Hayden told the Star Tribune the success of Hazeldens’ Maple Grove location shows there is demand for chemical and mental health services in the suburban area.
