Search warrant for documents turns up weapons, drugs 31 Jan 12

A Savage man has been charged with two counts of felony fifth-degree drug possession.

Police executed a search warrant at the home of Jeffrey Thomas Lutz, 51 – but officers were looking for documents relating to a financial exploitation case. In addition to the documents, police found multiple firearms, cocaine, marijuana, and vicodin.

Lutz was charged in Scott County District Court with two counts of felony fifth-degree drug possession. His first court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 3. He has yet to be charged with a weapons offense.
