The Mankato TV news anchor who was arrested in December for allegedly driving while drunk has been formally charged.
KEYC-TV’s Annie Stensrud was arrested on Dec. 21 in North Mankato. The Mankato Free Press is reporting Stensrud was charged with one gross misdemeanor count and two misdemeanor counts of drunken driving. A urine test taken an hour after the arrest revealed Stensrud had a blood alcohol concentration of .31, nearly four times the legal limit of .08 for driving in Minnesota.
Stensrud’s arrest came just two weeks after a video of her slurring her words during a live newscast went viral and appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman. After that incident, KEYC management issued a statement claiming Stensrud had a bad reaction to medication she had been taking.
