Paul rallies GOP support in St. Cloud, Minneapolis 07 Feb 12

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) – U.S. Rep. Ron Paul is rallying supporters in St. Cloud and Minneapolis as his campaign looks to Minnesota for its first state win in the Republican presidential race.

The Texas congressman spoke to several hundred supporters Monday afternoon at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud. He’s also speaking at an evening rally at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

In St. Cloud, Paul touched called for ending U.S. military involvement around the world and limiting the spending and influence of the federal government.

Paul’s Minnesota campaign has put an emphasis on winning Minnesota’s Tuesday caucus. His Minnesota campaign manager says it would be a “game changer” in the presidential race.

The St. Cloud rally drew many college students. Paul says it’s because young people don’t accept the status quo.
