One dead, four injured in Kasota Twp crash 13 Feb 12

One person is dead and four others injured after a single-vehicle accident in Kasota Township early yesterday.

Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the crash around 2:50 a.m. on Le Sueur County Road 45 south of Highway 99. Authorities say the driver lost control of the northbound vehicle on a curve, entered the west ditch and struck several trees.

Elizabeth Ann Risk, 21, of Gaylord was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Jennifer McCormick, 27, of Arlington was also airlifted to HCMC; her injury status is unknown. Katherine Meredith Risk, 24, of Kasota and Kerry Ann Olson, 40, of Le Center were transported by ambulance to Rivers Edge Hospital in St. Peter for minor injuries. Coy Charles Hewitt, 34, of Fairfax was taken by ambulance to Mankato mayo Hospital for injuries; his injury status is unknown.

The accident remains under investigation.
