Farmers union speaks out against FSA proposal 14 Feb 12

In the ongoing debate over whether or not to consolidate local Farm Service Agency offices, the Minnesota Farmers Union is voicing its opposition on behalf of its members.

MFU President Doug Peterson sent a comment to State FSA Executive Director Linda Hennen on Monday. According to the statement, the group understands the financial constraints put on the agency, but believes the decision to consolidate will not save enough money to justify the closings.

The Minnesota offices with undecided fates are in the counties of Scott, Pine, Chisago, Waseca, and Nicollet.
