Out of 194 Class 1A schools that produced One-Act Plays this year, and out of eight that performed at the state festival, only three received the distinction of a star performance – and Belle Plaine High School was one of them.
The Minnesota State High School League One-Act Play Festival was held last week at O’Shaughnessy Auditorium on the campus of St. Catherine University in St. Paul.
Belle Plaine, champion of Section 2A, received the “starred” rating for their production, “The Invasion of Earth as It Began in Grover’s Mill, New Jersey.” This was the ninth “starred” rating for Belle Plaine since 1993.
The 20 Belle Plaine students involved, under the direction of Tony Hartmann and Peter Jacobson, performed on Thursday along with other Class 1A schools. The other two Class 1A star recipients were St. Charles and East Central of Sandstone/Askov.
