A pallet recycling center in Waterville is considered a total loss after the main building on its site burned down Wednesday morning.
The Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office, Waterville Police and Waterville Fire Department arrived at the Fessell Pallet Recycling Center around 4:15 a.m. to find the structure fully engulfed. The Elysian, Morristown and Waseca Fire Departments also assisted in the rescue efforts.
It was later determined that the building was unoccupied at the time of the blaze. The other buildings located on the site were spared.
The fire is currently under investigation by the Minnesota State Fire Marshall, Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office and the Waterville Fire Department.
