Chaska Dance Team is double champion at state tournament 22 Feb 12

Jazz/funk and high kick aren’t exactly aerobics classes offered at your local gym.

They’re competitive dance team categories, and at last weekend’s Minnesota State High School League state championships, the Chaska Hawks proved they were better than any other team in the state – in both categories.

Chaska is the first double state champions in any class since St. Cloud Cathedral in 2010. Prior to last weekend, the Hawks had one previous state title, in high kick in 2009, but it’s the first jazz/funk state title in the Hawks Dance Team history.
