Former teacher’s aide sentenced for sex acts with student 22 Feb 12

A former Shakopee teacher’s aide was sentenced in Dakota County District Court yesterday to 90 days in jail and 15 years of probation for performing sexual acts on a male student in her car behind a Burnsville department store in 2009.

Michelle Rose Chlan pleaded guilty in December to one felony count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Two charges involving similar alleged incidents in 2009 and 2010 were dismissed in accordance with the plea agreement.

Chlan, now 27, was accused of performing oral sex on the teen when he was 16 and 17. She met the teen at school and supervised one of his classes, and has since been fired from the Shakopee School District.

Chlan must register as a predatory offender, have no unauthorized contact with minors, comply with random audits, attend sex offender treatment and pay restitution.
