New Prague man accused of attacking woman over confiscated alcohol 12 Mar 12

A 39-year-old man from New Prague faces multiple charges for allegedly attacking a woman he lives with because she took away his alcohol.

According to papers filed at the Le Sueur County courthouse, on Feb. 18 a woman went to Montgomery police to report she had been assaulted by Patrick John Skluzacek.

The woman told police on Feb. 17 Skluzacek had been drinking most of the night so she took the alcohol from him and went to bed. The victim said Skluzacek woke her in the middle of the night demanding the alcohol back. He allegedly threw her to the floor, punched her and head-butted her in the face.

The next day, Skluzacek told the woman he had no recollection of the assault. He agreed to leave the residence and seek treatment if she would not notify police of the incident, but the woman said she spoke to Skluzacek later in the day and was again intoxicated, so she went to the police.

Skluzacek is charged with fifth degree assault, domestic assault and disorderly conduct. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine. Skluzacek’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 21.
