Prison time for guilty plea in Shakopee domestic assault 16 Mar 12

A Brooklyn Center man arrested for domestic abuse in Shakopee is going to prison.

Clarence Joseph Gill, Jr., 20, was sentenced to 33 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon in Scott County Court.

The charges stem from a late November incident in which Gill and his girlfriend had a disagreement. According to the criminal complaint, a woman called police and told them that her boyfriend was attempting to stab her with a knife, he held a bleach soaked hat to her mouth, and pushed pillows against her face to suffocate her.

Court documents show that Gill was charged with felony domestic assault in 2010 as well.
