A woman from Plymouth is facing a number of felony charges after stealing more than $12,000 from a Lakeville family with whom she was living.

Deanna Michelle Turnbaugh, 32, has been charged in Dakota County with six felony counts including check forgery, credit card fraud, and identity theft.

According to the criminal complaint, Turnbaugh admitted to police that she was writing checks to herself from the personal checkbook of the couple she lived with, forging the signature, and then cashing them in. The family had worked out a payment plan for the checks she had cashed, but contacted police when they discovered fraudulent charges made to their bank account and a credit card bill adding up to $12,280.
