GRILLED HAM SLICES WITH GLAZE

1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/3 cup prepared horseradish
2-4 thick slices of ham

Preheat grill for high and oil the grate.
Mix the glaze ingredients and heat in the microwave for 1 minute.
Score both sides of the ham and cook for 6-8 minutes per side, basting continuously.

 

MINTED PEA SALAD
– from Taste of Home

½ cup Mayonnaise
¼ cup Sour Cream
¼ cup Fresh Mint Leaves
¾ t Salt
¼ t Dijon Mustard
Dash Pepper
3 cups (16 oz.) Frozen Peas, thawed
1 Small Onion

Combine first 6 ingredients (which is all but the peas and onions) and mix well. Add peas & onions, toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate at least one hour. Makes 6 servings.

ONION CHEESE BREAD
– from Taste of Home

1 loaf of unsliced French bread (1 pound, about 20 inches long)
8 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, cut into 1/4-inch cubes
1/2 cup chopped green onions or red onion
6 tablespoons butter, melted
4-1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
1-1/2 teaspoons prepared mustard

Cut the bread lengthwise down the middle to within 1/2 in. of bottom, but not all the way through.
Then cut diagonally into 1-in. slices also to within 1/2 in. of bottom. Repeat cuts in the opposite direction. Stuff the bread with the cheese and onions. Place on a double thickness of heavy-duty foil (about 24 in. x 12 in.).
Combine the butter, lemon juice and mustard; drizzle over bread. Fold foil around bread. Place on a baking sheet. Bake at 425° for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted. Unwrap; bake 5-10 minutes longer or until bread is lightly crisp. Cut into pieces; serve warm. Yield: 8-10 servings.
