Warrant issued for woman accused of child endangerment, neglect in Lakeville 09 Apr 12

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Red Wing woman following an incident at a Lakeville hotel.

According to the criminal complaint, Lakeville police were called to a hotel on March 31 after a report of an intoxicated man in the reception area. When police arrived, the man was incoherent and eventually passed out.

Hotel staff brought police to the room the man had been staying in, where they found Amber Elaine Czerwinski, 28, smelling of alcohol passed out on a bed.

Police say there were partially full beer cans, cigarettes, cigarette butts, open food containers, trash and dirty diapers strewn around the room. A two-year-old child was in the room, chewing on a wrapper, and appeared to have been eating Vaseline and ChapStik. Police also say the child had an extremely wet diaper, and when they changed it, they found a severe rash on her legs and pelvic area.

Czerwinski was taken to detox and her daughter was put into protective custody. Authorities have been unable to locate Czerwinski since her release from detox. She is charged with child neglect and child endangerment, both gross misdemeanors.
