Two weeks in a row the Jordan Hubmen have been able to win at home. The second game of the season welcomed the Norwood-Young American Raiders to the “Mini Met” in Jordan. Last week when Jordan played they wrapped up everything in 5 innings that would not be the case in this matchup. On the mound for Norwood-Young America was Tim Willems and Jordan sent Jon Krueser to lead the Hubmen defense.
The first inning was tight with Jordan scoring one off an RBI single from Jordan Gorake that helped get Nick Heitkamp across home. Jordan would tally up 4 runs before the Norwood-Young America offense was seen. It would happen in the third after a pitching change sending Krueser still on the mound, hits from NYA’s Matt Tibbs, Issac Hormen and Casey Clemson would get bobbled in the infield and be unable to make it to first basemen Ben Althoff and bring in three runs for NYA. The fifth started with Jordan having a one run lead but not for long. Early in the inning Gorake, Beckman, Huss, and Shansberg would score bring the total to eight.
Jon Krueser gets the win for Jordan with a final of 8-3. The Hubmen will prepare for a Thursday afternoon game against the new Tri-City United Titians. Look for coverage of that game on 95.5 KRDS and online at KCHKradio.net.
