Level 3 Sex Offender moving to Belle Plaine 11 Apr 12

The Belle Plaine Police Department has released information about a Level 3 Predatory Offender moving into the community next week.

Andrew Charles Haefner, 22, is currently being held in the Scott County Jail. He plans to move to the 500 block of West Forest Street in Belle Plaine on Monday, April 16.

Haefner has a history of engaging in sexual contact with female victims ages 15-16. Authorities say the offender knew his victims.

Haefner has served his sentence in a state prison for felony-level third- and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. He is not wanted by police, but his Level 3 status means he has been determined to be at the highest risk of re-offending.

Belle Plaine Police have scheduled a Community Notification meeting for Thursday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Chatfield Elementary School.

Representatives from the Department of Corrections, the Scott County Attorneys Office and the Belle Plaine Police Department will be available to provide public safety information and answer questions.
