A man with a history of burglary and theft is facing new charges after police found him with a stolen vehicle.
According to the criminal complaint, police responded to a call reporting that a suspicious man was peering at homes and checking out parked cars while walking around a Lakeville neighborhood.
When questioned by police, Jesse Roy Magnuson, 30, of White Bear Lake told them he was taking a walk in the neighborhood. A Jeep key was found in his pocket, but he denied owning a nearby Jeep Grand Cherokee. Police discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen a month ago and contained personal items belonging to Magnuson.
He’s charged in Dakota County with two felony counts of receiving stolen property. His next court appearance is later this month.
