Minneapolis, Minn. (AP) – Virginia Commonwealth athletics director Norwood Teague has been announced as a finalist to be the next athletics director at Minnesota.
University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler made the announcement on Twitter on Sunday afternoon. The Gopher athletics department also tweeted the announcement on its official site.
And university spokesman Matt Hodson says Teague is the only finalist for the job.
Kaler has said his goal is to pick a successor in May for Joel Maturi, who’s stepping down July 1.
Teague has been AD at VCU since 2006. He joined the Rams after five years as associate athletics director at North Carolina.
