Beckman 12 K’s in Jordan Victory 25 Apr 12

Reflective of the weather at the Mini Met in Jordan today the Hubman started cloudy then cleared and heated up to defeat Sibley East 4-3 in eight innings extending their losing slide to three. Jordan entered with its own three game slide but rallied around the confidence of Nate Beckman. It turned out to be a good choice, in this pitcher’s duel.

Both starting pitchers, Beckman for Jordan and Brody Rodning for Sibley East, walked their first batters and had issues controlling some pitches that resulted in on base appearances for both teams. In the second Micheal Uecker and Kyle Goetsch would stride across home off an Ed Reichenbach two RBI single to give Sibely East the 2-1 lead. The Hubmen would tie things up in the fifth by sending home short stop Nick HeitKamp and first basemen Ben Althoff, making way for extra innings, 3 all.

Bottom of the eighth, Jordan loads the bags and a wild pitch sends home Kurt Schansberg for the 4-3 Jordan victory. Brody Rodning and crew finish with 10 strikeouts in 7, 4 hits, 2 errors and 3 runs; while Jordan ace Nate Beckman racked up 12 strikeouts in 8, with the team tallying 4 hits, 2 errors and 4 runs.
